Myanmar Business Visa from Hongkong

For Hongkong or Chinese passport holder who want to do business in Myanmar, a business visa is a must. This article will clarify all the procedure you need to follow to apply for business visa


 

Business Visa Requirements

Your passport with at least 6 month validity ( valid from the date you arrive in Myanmar )

Passport size photos. For online application, digital photos are accepted. 

Invitation Letter/ document issued by local company who you are working with in Myanmar. 

Guarantee letter from local company.

Additional reservation or confirmation like hotel reservation will be useful 

 

Business Visa Types

Business Visa for 70 days - single entry.
First time application only allows 10 weeks or 70 days stay in the country. There is no visa extension but if you want to stay a little longer, you can pay for over stay fee which costs $3/ day ( maximum 30 days ).
Business visa can now be applied online -  3 working days or less. You can apply through Hongkong consulate - normally 1 week or longer depends on their workload.

Long stay visa 6 months or 1 year is only obtainable after you already get 3 single business visa of 70 days. There are some exception case by case that you can do at embassy with much more document to prove your working time.
Multiple visa is also another special case that you can deal only case-by-case basis. 
 

Ports of Entry

Business visa is advisable for 3 main international airports including Yangon, Naypyidaw and Mandalay. 
If you cross the border from other countries like Thailand, Laos or China, a valide visa is compulsory. In this case, you can not apply online.
